BasisNorth ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. It is written to align with Canada's federal privacy law (PIPEDA) and Quebec's Law 25.
Transaction data you upload. The CSV you provide contains your crypto transaction history. We use it solely to compute your capital gains report and return it to you.
Account and contact information. If you contact us or purchase a report, we receive your email address and limited details needed to deliver the report and provide support.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number; Stripe handles card data under its own security and privacy terms.
We use your data to generate your report, deliver it, provide customer support, and meet legal and accounting obligations. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your transaction data for advertising.
We retain uploaded transaction data only as long as needed to deliver and support your report, after which it is deleted. We retain basic purchase records as required for tax and accounting purposes.
We share data only with service providers that help us operate (for example, Stripe for payments and our hosting provider), and only as needed to provide the service, or where required by law.
Under PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. To make a request, email [email protected].
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
